Looking for like-minded opera enthusiasts in the Muskoka area?
The Muskoka Opera Guild was started in September 2006. For many years we had the opportunity to meet in The Parlour, at the Bracebridge United Church, on Dominion Street in Bracebridge. However, we have grown to large for that venue now, and had to find larger facilities. Everyone donates a tooney toward a donation to the facility where we meet.
We usually meet the last Monday of every month, at 1:30 p.m. Our last meeting was held at James Street Place Senior's Residence in Bracebridge, and we are continuing to meet over the summer at many different locations.
Recently the Guild was instrumental in bringing the Metropolitan Opera Simulcasts to Bracebridge. We started with the Best of the Met summer series in July of 2009.
