The youngest member of the Canadian Opera Company family, the Northumberland Opera Guild was launched in May 2010. The Guild aims to:
As a member of the Northumberland Opera Guild, you will hit many high notes as you take part in our full calendar of social and educational events and community outreach programs, enjoy unique opportunities to go behind the scenes of a world-class company, get to know opera inside and out, connect with other individuals who want to learn more about this artform, share information and ideas, help provide opportunities for educational and outreach programs for youth, and ensure the future of opera in our communities.
Whether you are a veteran opera lover, or a beginner in search of more knowledge, we invite you to join us. Annual membership fees are $25 for a single and $40 for a family.

New members are always welcome. The Guild holds monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of the month in the Cobourg Public Library from September to December, and in the Port Hope Public Library from February to May. The programs will feature talks illustrated with audio-visual excerpts, good company, refreshments, and an opportunity for members to socialize and share their love of opera.
