On Good Friday, from Washington to New York

I have just left Washington Union Station to go back to New York. I should definitely have spent more than 18 hours here as, apart from my afternoon and evening at the Kennedy Center, I only saw the most important sights, like the White House or the Capitol, from the window of a taxi. I can tell you, nevertheless, that the cherry trees were in blossom, indeed, and that spring seems to be firmly established here already. The weather was gorgeous, warm and sunny. On the Train to Washington

I spent the morning at the offices of Columbia Artists Management meeting with the managers to discuss our future seasons.

Now, I just boarded the Acela Express train to Washington D. C. where I will audition the young artists of Washington National Opera (WNO) this afternoon, then have dinner with Christine Scheppelmann, a fellow German who is WNO's Artistic Administrator. Then I will see George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.

In every single meeting I've had since I've arrived here yesterday, people have been raving about the cherry blossoms in Washington at this time of the year. I'm quite excited to see them later today.

Another Travel

I have just arrived in New York. Tomorrow I will be in Washington and then back to New York until Sunday. This trip is what I call a "leftover" trip as I will meet with all the people I haven't been able to meet during my last few visits, mostly artist managers, but also directors and administrators. And of course, I will hear auditions and see a few performances.
