Over eight weeks, artist-educators lead students and teachers in the creation of their own original opera. Students develop an understanding of opera, and gain writing, singing and acting experience. Through the process of artistic collaboration, students improve upon skills in leadership, conflict resolution and creative thinking.
Teachers are encouraged to link the theme of their opera to the curriculum. Professional development tools and ideas for curriculum links are provided in an accompanying study guide.
