Opera is for everyone, and whether you’re an experienced music teacher, a new second-grade teacher, a high school drama teacher or anyone in between, we’d love to teach you about bringing opera to your students by giving you a night at the opera, on us! From private backstage tours to interactive workshops, educators get an engaging introduction to the art form, connect with other educators, and take new resources back to the classroom. Each teacher is invited to stay for the dress rehearsal of the opera immediately following the PD session.
Music and French teachers in Ontario are invited to participate in the Spring 2016 Teachers' Night! For only $10, connect to your inner opera star, gain a deeper knowledge of and appreciation for the art form, and learn how you can use opera to stimulate creativity, curiosity, and discussion in your classroom.
SPRING 2016 Carmen, French Opera, and French Diction
Are you a French as a Second Language teacher, French immersion teacher, teach in a French school, or a music teacher who wants to incorporate more French-language music into their students' repertoire? Jason Nedecky, singer and language coach, joins us as we explore French opera, how to incorporate Carmen into your classroom, and how to improve your students' pronunciation and diction. Bring along your questions on these subjects as well as Jason's life as an opera singer and member of the COC Chorus.
