Carmen. The name alone evokes a myriad of archetypes: powerful woman, sexual ideal, freedom-loving gypsy, fatalistic soul. Unshakeable in her determination to live life freely, the tension between Carmen and her spurned lover Don Jose culminates in an act of desperate fury.

The heat and dust of Spain is brought to life in Georges Bizet's thrilling and evocative score. Extra performances have been added to this, one of the world's best-loved operas.
