Tribute to Richard Bradshaw
Artists of the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra take centre stage in a new series of chamber concerts under the direction of the company’s music director, Johannes Debus. This inaugural concert pays tribute to Maestro Debus’s predecessor and former COC General Director, the late Richard Bradshaw. The program features chamber works by some of Bradshaw’s favourite operatic composers: Debussy’s Syrinx for solo flute (featuring COC principal flutist Douglas Stewart), Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet (featuring newly appointed principal clarinetist James Shields), and Puccini’s elegy for string quartet, Crisantemi (featuring COC concertmaster Marie Bérard with Sandra Baron, Francis Kefford and Bryan Epperson).
