For this FREE, lunch-time event, CBC Radio’s Brent Bambury introduces COC artists Karine Boucher (soprano), Andrew Haji (tenor) and Clarence Frazer (baritone), accompanied by Jenna Douglas on piano as they perform arias, duets and ensembles by one of opera's most popular composers, Giacomo Puccini.

Sunday, May 3, 2015, 2-4 p.m. – "The Music of Wagner's Ring and the Life-Cycle of an Audience"

New Zealand-based lecturer and Wagner expert Heath Lees’ DVD series, “Wagner’s Ring:  A Tale Told in Music”, has been acclaimed worldwide as “quite simply the best account of the motivic architecture of The Ring”. Join Dr. Lees as he uses piano illustrations and filmed excerpts to show how resourcefully Wagner composed his score to achieve an over-arching, cyclic effect of birth, growth, maturity and death.

Location:  Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, 145 Queen Street West (enter through Box Office doors at Queen and University Streets)
