Vocal Series

Tenor Isaiah Bell will return to the Canadian Opera Company in the winter production of Bilodeau/Bouchard’s La Reine-garçon in the role of Johan Oxenstierna.

For his Free Concert Series performance, he will share an experimental program built around Satie’s meditative late masterpiece Socrate. The movements of Satie’s “monodrama” are interwoven with surprisingly curated music from diverse traditions, including some of Bell’s own songs. From the artist: “The unifying factor is a way of being present in the world that has been called ‘haiku consciousness,’ and which I also try to manifest here in a music-embodying physical language.”
