In prelude to the much anticipated opening of La Reine-garçon on January 31, pianist/composer Adam Sherkin returns to the Free Concert Series stage in a virtuosic programme showcasing the keyboard music of opera composer, Julien Bilodeau.

This performance includes a world premiere: “Three Paraphrases on La Reine-garçon,” written especially for Sherkin. From Bilodeau: “Through these three paraphrases, the listener will be transported on a condensed journey that recounts the highlights of the opera while being able to appreciate a mode of pianistic writing that is both virtuoso and poetic.”
