Staged Excerpts from Opera Atelier’s Production of The Descent of Orpheus

Opera Atelier, Canada's internationally-acclaimed period opera company, will present excerpts of Marc Antoine Charpentier's The Descent of Orpheus, featuring soloists and artists of Atelier Ballet.

Charpentier’s extraordinary masterpiece recounts the timeless story of the poet Orpheus and his heroic journey to hell to rescue his lover Eurydice from death.

The Descent of Orpheus will be fully staged in a magically transformed Koerner Hall as the opener of Opera Atelier's 2026/2027 season, from October 22-25, 2026.
